Mesh tools
Mapping, configuration, flashing, and observing the network. Some participants do wardriving (walking or cycling with a companion to test coverage); these tools help visualise the mesh as observed.
Where to buy hardware
Any device designed for Meshtastic (ESP32 or nRF + SX1262 chip, etc.) can usually be flashed with MeshCore: searching for “Meshtastic hardware” remains a good starting point to widen your options.
Documentary sources
The content on meshpot.be draws on official MeshCore documentation, Belgian community guides and tools, and the experience of Brussels mesh participants.
- #BEmesh, the Flemish MeshCore community, pioneers of the protocol in Belgium, largely made up of radio amateurs: region configurator, flood / unscoped guidance (August 2026), radio recommendations, and regional filtering. The settings suggested on this site are mainly inspired by their guides. French-language docs now exist as a complement (Liège Hackerspace wiki, DinX); in Brussels we stay deliberately more flexible while the local mesh is nascent.
- MeshCore: official site, source code, documentation.
- ON8AR CoreScope: live mapping and analysis of Belgian traffic.
- NodeNet.be: practical companion and repeater guides.
- awesome-meshcore: curated list of community resources.
- Original discussion: Reddit thread on the Brussels mesh.
Technical terms in the guide are defined in the full glossary.
